Churachandpur, April 6, 2025 – The Manipur Police have arrested a juvenile, classified as a Child in Conflict with Law (CCL), in connection with the alleged sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl from Chandel district. The incident has sparked outrage and renewed concerns over child safety in the region.

The victim, currently residing in Churachandpur, was admitted to the District Hospital after reportedly being sexually assaulted. Authorities were alerted on April 4, prompting immediate action from Manipur Police, including officers from the Women Police Station, Churachandpur, who rushed to the hospital to begin an investigation.

Based on preliminary findings, police teams launched search operations across suspected locations in the town. By evening, they apprehended the accused, a Child in Conflict with Law (CCL), from Zion Veng in Tuibong Sub-Division, Churachandpur district.
