The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Guwahati has issued a short-term weather alert warning of thunderstorms with lightning and light to moderate rain in several districts of Assam over the next three hours.
According to the forecast, isolated places in the districts of Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, Karbi Anglong, Lakhimpur, Majuli, and Sivasagar are likely to experience unstable weather conditions, including thunderstorms accompanied by lightning.
The alert, which has been issued in public interest by the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA), urges residents in the affected areas to take necessary precautions and remain indoors during lightning activity.
