Incident Unfolded on Shivratri Night
According to DCP Central Guwahati Amitabh Basumatary, the survivor filed a complaint at 9 PM on Shivratri night. She alleged that the two men had lured her with liquor and cannabis. While her friend declined to go with them, the survivor was taken to Rashmi Hotel in Rajgarh, where the accused forced her to consume alcohol before allegedly assaulting her.
Police Statement and Legal Action
DCP Basumatary stated, "The young woman approached the police station at 9 PM and reported the crime. The accused had offered alcohol to two women, promising cannabis. When her friend refused to accompany them, they took the survivor to a hotel, where they again forced her to drink before raping her."
Following the complaint, Paltan Bazar police promptly arrested the accused and launched an in-depth investigation. The authorities have assured strict legal action against the perpetrators.
