The deceased has been identified as Birinchi Kumar Das, Officer-in-Charge of Ghograpar Police Station, Nalbari. Reports indicate that Das was on a month-long leave at the time of the accident.
High-Speed Collision Ends in Tragedy
Eyewitnesses reported that a Swift car (AS 01AY 9101), traveling at high speed, lost control, hit a road divider, and then crashed into Das’s scooter with immense force. The impact completely mangled the scooter, and Das succumbed to his injuries on the spot.
Driver Flees Scene, Investigation Underway
Following the crash, the driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene. Authorities have launched an investigation to trace the suspect and determine if reckless driving or intoxication played a role in the incident.
