Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu Warns Against Fake Higher Secondary Exam Paper Circulation

Authorities Clarify Chemistry Exam Paper Authenticity

Guwahati, 21 Feb 2025: Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu has issued a public alert regarding a fake Higher Secondary exam question paper circulating on social media. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Pegu clarified that the purported Chemistry exam paper being shared online is not genuine and urged students not to fall for misleading claims.

"The question paper circulating on social media today is FAKE. The actual Chemistry paper will have a different color, not the pink one seen online," Pegu stated in his post.

Government's Response & Warnings

The Assam government has taken the issue seriously, as misinformation regarding examination papers can cause confusion and unnecessary stress among students. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s office has been notified, and officials are actively monitoring the situation.

Authorities have warned that strict action will be taken against individuals involved in spreading false information. Students are advised to rely only on official sources such as the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) and the Education Department for any updates regarding exams.

Appeal to Students & Parents

Education officials have urged students to focus on their preparation and not get distracted by such hoaxes. Parents have also been advised to guide their children in verifying information before believing or sharing it.

The state government reassures students that all necessary security measures are in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination process.
