Diphu, December 30, 2024: The Central Selection Board (CSB) under the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) has issued an official advertisement inviting applications for various Grade-III and Grade-IV positions under the Environment & Forest Department. This recruitment drive, approved via notification No.KAAC/Estt.-721/P(B)/E&F/Priot Approval of posts/2024-25/12 dated November 7, 2024, aims to fill 24 vacant posts.
Vacancy Details
The available positions include:
1. Forester (10 posts): Graduate in any discipline. Pay Scale: ₹14,000-₹49,000 (Grade Pay ₹6,400).
2. Forest Guard (8 posts): Higher Secondary (10+2) qualified. Pay Scale: ₹14,000-₹49,000 (Grade Pay ₹5,600).
3. Lower Division Assistant (LDA) (2 posts): Bachelor's degree with a six-month computer diploma/certificate. Pay Scale: ₹14,000-₹49,000 (Grade Pay ₹6,200).
4. Draftsman (1 post): HSLC passed with a Draftsman Diploma. Pay Scale: ₹14,000-₹49,000 (Grade Pay ₹6,800).
5. Mali (2 posts): Class VIII passed. Pay Scale: ₹12,000-₹37,500 (Grade Pay ₹3,900).
6. Peon (1 post): Class VIII passed. Pay Scale: ₹12,000-₹37,500 (Grade Pay ₹3,900).
Eligibility Criteria
1. Applicants must be Indian citizens and permanent residents of Karbi Anglong or West Karbi Anglong districts.
2. Age: 18 to 40 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST candidates and 3 years for OBC/MOBC candidates).
3. Physical fitness and sound health are mandatory.
Application Process
Eligible candidates can submit their applications in the prescribed format (available in the Assam Gazette, Part-IX) along with self-attested copies of educational certificates, mark sheets, and two passport-sized photographs. Selection Process
Forester and Forest Guard:
Written Test (200 marks) covering Mathematics, English, Vernacular Dictation/Essay, and General Knowledge.
Physical Fitness Test (26 km walk in 4 hours, medical examination) – 100 marks.
Viva-voce – 50 marks.
LDA and Draftsman:
Written Test (100 marks) – OMR-based with sections on English, Karbi Anglong/Assam History, Mathematics, and General Knowledge.
Computer Test (50 marks) for LDA.
Viva-voce – 50 marks.
Mali and Peon:
Viva-voce/Oral Examination – 100 marks.
Important Notes
Reserved category candidates must submit valid caste certificates.
A valid employment exchange registration certificate and PRC/Domicile certificate are mandatory.
Final selection will be based on merit, combining written, physical, and interview scores.
