Heavy Clashes Between KNA-B and Manipur Rebel Groups Continue for Third Day Near Indo-Myanmar Border

Kamjong, Manipur – Intense gunfights between the Kuki National Army-Burma (KNA-B) and Manipur-based insurgent groups have entered their third consecutive day near Border Pillar No. 87, close to the Indo-Myanmar border in Manipur’s Kamjong district.

The violent encounters, which began on January 27, have escalated further, leading to multiple casualties. Reports indicate that at least eight more KNA-B members were killed in fresh clashes today, bringing the total estimated death toll among KNA-B cadres to nearly 30 over the past three days. Additionally, security forces have reportedly recovered at least eight sophisticated weapons from the battleground.

The conflict has now spread to surrounding areas, intensifying tensions in the border region. Authorities have yet to release an official statement regarding the exact number of casualties from both sides.

Security forces remain on high alert as the prolonged hostilities pose a serious security threat to the Indo-Myanmar border. Further updates are awaited as the situation develops.
