The East Jaintia Hills District of Meghalaya has announced a partial closure of National Highway-6, affecting the Lumshnong to Malidor stretch, on December 3, 2024. Vehicular movement along this crucial route will be restricted between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM to facilitate critical infrastructure maintenance.  

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) issued a public advisory highlighting the need for comprehensive road closures to ensure the timely completion of construction, renovation, and repair work on the highway. While regular vehicles will be prohibited, emergency vehicles will be granted access during the restricted hours.
