Eight-year-old Goyir Riba from Arunachal Pradesh has made India proud by clinching the gold medal in the 10th Tirak International Taekwondo Tournament in Bangkok, Thailand. Competing in the sub-junior under-eight category, Riba excelled in Poomsae, defeating finalists from Thailand and Malaysia. She also took home a bronze medal in Kyurogi, showcasing her skill in both forms of Taekwondo.
Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein congratulated the young champion on social media, writing, "Congratulations to Goyir Riba! An incredible achievement by 8-year-old Goyir, who has made us all proud... Representing India on an international stage, Goyir’s dedication and strength inspire us all." He extended his best wishes for her future, celebrating her achievement as a beacon of inspiration for young athletes across the country.
A student of Lepa-Rada Taekwondo Academy, Riba’s accomplishment has also gained recognition from the Department of Sports, MYAS, and CMO Arunachal, reflecting the pride felt by the state and nation alike.
