A Mumbai-bound Lokmanya Tilak Express, which departed from Agartala earlier today, derailed near Dibalong station in Assam at around 3:55 p.m., officials from the Northeast Frontier Railway confirmed. The derailment involved eight coaches, including the engine and the power car. Fortunately, no casualties or major injuries have been reported in connection with the incident.

The accident occurred in the Lumding-Badarpur Hill section under the jurisdiction of the Lumding division. In response to the derailment, railway authorities dispatched an Accident Relief Train and an Accident Relief Medical Train from Lumding, accompanied by senior division officials. They are currently overseeing rescue operations and working to restore the affected section.
