Govt. of Assam Begins Financial Support for Students Under Nijut Moina Scheme.

Assam Govt Disburses First Cheques Under Nijut Moina Scheme to Over 1.5 Lakh Students

ASSAM, 6 October 2024: The Government of Assam has started giving financial help to students through the Nijut Moina Scheme. In the first phase, financial assistance was given by cheque to 159,093 students across the state.

A special event took place in Khanapara where Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over financial assistance to 24,384 students from Kamrup (M), Kamrup, and Morigaon districts. This support is mainly for girls studying in government and eligible educational institutions.

The Chief Minister highlighted that this scheme is not only providing financial support to the students but also helping in preventing early marriages by encouraging education for young girls.
