Guwahati, Sept. 28– The Assam Government has announced a statewide suspension of mobile internet services during the Assam Direct Recruitment (ADR) examinations scheduled for September 29, 2024. This measure, aimed at ensuring a fair and transparent recruitment process, will be enforced from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, covering both examination shifts.
The ADR exams, organized by the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class III posts, will see around 734,080 candidates appearing at 822 centers across 27 districts. The first shift, from 9 AM to 12 PM, will be for Bachelor’s Degree level posts, while the second shift, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM, will be for HSLC (Driver) posts.
This internet blackout comes in response to past incidents of malpractice and cheating via social media and mobile apps. By suspending mobile internet, the government seeks to prevent any misuse of digital platforms that could compromise the exam's integrity. Despite the mobile internet suspension, voice calls and broadband services via landlines will remain operational.
The government has also warned that violations of the suspension order will lead to legal action under relevant laws, ensuring strict compliance to maintain the sanctity of the recruitment process.
This proactive step reflects Assam’s commitment to ensuring a level playing field for all candidates and upholding the credibility of its recruitment systems.
