Diphu, Sept. 28 – In a tragic incident, a 21-year-old Adivasi woman named Anita was discovered hanging from the top floor of an under-construction building near Government Boys' School in Diphu, early this morning. The local police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Anita, a resident of Karagaon Natun Basti in Karbi Anglong, had been employed as a domestic worker in the household of Angale Rengma, the owner of the building where her body was found. She had been staying with the Rengma family for more than a year.
Authorities were alerted to the situation in the early hours of the morning. Upon arriving at the scene, police discovered Anita’s body hanging. The body has since been taken into custody and sent for post-mortem analysis to determine the cause of death.
