In a violent escalation of internal conflict, at least three Kuki-Zo village volunteers and a member of the United Kuki Liberation Front (UKLF) lost their lives in an alleged gunfight early Friday morning. The clashes, which reportedly stemmed from an internal dispute, took place around 8 a.m. at two separate locations in the Pallel area, specifically Molnoi Pallel and Molnom, under the Tengnoupal district of Manipur.

According to reliable sources, the two sites of conflict were approximately 1.5 km apart, signaling a coordinated outbreak of violence. The gunfight appears to have led to a retaliatory attack by members of the Village Volunteer Force (VVF), who set fire to the home of SS Haokip, the leader of the UKLF, in Pallel. Witnesses reported seeing heavy smoke as the house was completely engulfed in flames.

Security forces and local police quickly cordoned off the area to contain the situation and prevent further violence. As of the latest reports, the area remains under tight security.

This incident marks a significant rise in tensions within the region, highlighting the ongoing unrest and the potential for further conflict. Local authorities are continuing their investigation into the events leading up to the violence.
