Manipur CM N Biren Singh Vows to Bridge Hill-Valley Divide, Commends Security Forces
Singh Highlights Efforts to Close Gap Between Hill and Valley Regions Under BJP Rule
Imphal, August 12, 2024 — In a significant address, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh highlighted the persistent divide between the hill and valley regions of the state, attributing the disparity to unequal treatment by previous administrations. Singh emphasized that the current BJP government has made notable progress in addressing these long-standing issues.

"Under our administration, we have made considerable efforts to close the gap between the hill and valley regions," Singh stated. "We are dedicated to ensuring that every part of Manipur receives the attention and resources necessary for balanced development."

The Chief Minister's remarks come after his recent praise for the Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) on social media. On August 11, Singh used X (formerly Twitter) to commend the security forces for their effective operations in dismantling Kuki militants' bunkers in Bunglon, a move he deemed crucial for maintaining peace and security in the state.

"In our ongoing commitment to eliminate threats and sustain stability, the Army and BSF have successfully taken down the Kuki militants' bunkers in Bunglon," Singh wrote. He called on the people of Manipur to continue supporting the security forces in their mission to create a peaceful and secure environment for all residents.

Singh's statements reflect the government's focused approach towards resolving regional disparities and ensuring that Manipur progresses uniformly, while also acknowledging the vital role of security forces in safeguarding the state.
