Four Dead as Dibrugarh Express Derails in Uttar Pradesh
Immediate Rescue Operations Initiated by North Eastern Railway
Gonda, Uttar Pradesh - At least four people were killed when several coaches of the 15904 Dibrugarh Express derailed near Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, around 2:37 pm on July 18, according to media reports.

The train, which had departed from Chandigarh station at 11:35 pm on July 17, was bound for Dibrugarh in Assam. The derailment occurred between Motiganj and Jhilahi railway stations in Gonda district.

Pankaj Singh, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of North Eastern Railway, confirmed that a medical van from the Railways arrived promptly at the scene, and rescue operations commenced immediately. Helpline numbers have been issued for affected passengers and their families. "The incident happened around 2:37 pm. According to initial information, 4-5 coaches have derailed," he stated.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has been briefed on the derailment and is actively monitoring the situation. The Government of Assam is in communication with the relevant authorities to coordinate the response.
