Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Details Three-Stage Examination Process for Government Posts
Guwahati, Assam – In a significant move to boost employment, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on Tuesday, July 9, that the state government will conduct direct recruitment examinations for grade 3 and grade 4 posts in various departments through a three-stage process. This initiative aims to fill 35,000 vacancies in a transparent manner.
The recruitment process for over 6,400 vacancies in Assam Police will begin with physical tests starting October 3. For ADRE grade 3 positions, which include over 7,500 vacancies, the preliminary examinations will be held on September 15, 22, and 29. For ADRE grade 4 positions, with more than 4,500 vacancies, prelims will be conducted on October 20 and 27.
Chief Minister Sarma detailed that the recruitment exams will follow a three-stage process comprising Prelims, Mains, and Interview, a standard procedure used by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) for various recruitments, including the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE).
Additionally, Sarma announced that the recruitment for over 13,000 teacher vacancies under the elementary and secondary education departments will be notified shortly. He emphasized the government's commitment to completing all recruitment drives by April 2025.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said, "We are all set to fill 35,000 government vacancies by April 2025 in a transparent manner."
