Cabinet Ministers to Supervise Relief Efforts Across Districts
Guwahati, India – In a proactive response to the ongoing flood crisis, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the entire State Government stands firmly with the people of Assam during this critical time.

To ensure proper supervision of flood relief efforts, CM Sarma has requested Cabinet Ministers to be stationed in various districts for the next three days. "Myself and a team of Ministers will also visit Barak Valley for 3-4 days soon. With the People, Amidst the People," Sarma posted.

Strategic Deployment for Flood Relief

To monitor and coordinate flood relief operations across the state, the following Cabinet Ministers have been assigned specific districts:

1. Dibrugarh & Tinsukia - Shri Ranjit Kumar Dass
2. Charaideo - Shri Jogen Mohan
3. Sivasagar & Jorhat - Shri Bimal Bora
4. Dhemaji & Lakhimpur - Dr. Ranoj Pegu
5. Biswanath, Sonitpur & Darrang - Shri Pijush Hazarika
6. Golaghat - Smt Ajanta Neog
7. Nagaon & Morigaon - Shri Atul Bora
8. Majuli - Shri Jayanta Malla Baruah
9. Udalguri - Smt Nandita Gorlosa

These deployments follow the Assam Cabinet decision made on July 3, 2024.

Ensuring Effective Relief Operations

The stationed ministers will oversee the implementation of relief measures, ensuring timely and efficient aid distribution to the flood-affected populations. Their presence aims to provide reassurance to the residents and ensure that the government’s efforts are closely monitored and effective.

The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to standing with the people of Assam in their hour of need, and the strategic deployment of ministers will help streamline and intensify relief operations.

CM and Ministers to Visit Barak Valley

CM Sarma and a team of ministers plan to visit Barak Valley for 3-4 days to personally assess the situation and coordinate relief efforts on the ground. This visit is part of the government’s broader strategy to ensure that all affected regions receive adequate support and resources.
