Arunachal Pradesh Allocates Rs 2,139 Crores for Education in 2024-25 Budget
Infrastructure Boost: Grants for Key Projects Including RK Mission and RKM School
Itanagar, July 24, 2024 – Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pema Khandu has announced a significant investment in the state’s education sector with the release of the Arunachal Budget 2024-25. A total of Rs 2,139 crores has been earmarked under the Arun SHRI Mission to enhance educational infrastructure and resources.

In his social media post, Deputy Chief Minister Khandu highlighted key initiatives funded by the budget:

1. Infrastructure Development: The budget includes substantial allocations for strengthening educational institutions at both school and university levels. This includes grants for the Golden Jubilee Convention Hall at RK Mission, Narottam Nagar, and Phase-2 construction at RKM School, Lumdung.

2. Empowering Students: The Dulari Kanya Scheme and Bagless Saturday initiatives aim to support female students and promote effective study practices. Additionally, the Mukhya Mantri Shiksha Kosh will be utilized to fund school safety skills, summer camps, and state-level science exhibitions.

3. Teacher Training and Facilities: Comprehensive training programs for teachers, the construction of teachers' quarters, and new academic blocks at various colleges are also planned. Notable projects include the development of Government Engineering College in Tezu and the construction of an academic block at Government College, Seppa.

4. Promoting STEM Education: The budget supports the promotion of STEM education and includes funding for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and a Sainik School in East Siang.

5. University Development: Investments will also be made in higher education, including the construction of a university auditorium and residential quarters for teaching staff at Arunachal Pradesh University, Pasighat.
