From Dima Hasao to Cuba: Armstrong Changsan Appointed India's Ambassador

Guwahati, India – In a landmark appointment, Armstrong Changsan, a distinguished diplomat hailing from Dima Hasao in Assam, has been named India's Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba. This significant announcement by the Ministry of External Affairs marks a new chapter in Changsan’s extensive diplomatic career.

Changsan, who joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1997, has built a formidable reputation through various high-profile assignments. His previous roles include serving as the Consul General in Osaka-Kobe, Japan, and as the Deputy High Commissioner of India to South Africa. Additionally, his postings in Lagos and Tokyo have further cemented his expertise in international relations.

Born on January 24, 1969, Changsan's academic journey began at IIT Delhi, where he earned a B Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering. This strong academic background laid the foundation for his diplomatic endeavors, which have seen him tackle global issues like climate change and human rights at the United Nations with great efficacy.
