Dr. Ranjan Kr. Kakati Inaugurates Event, Stresses "My Health, My Right" Theme
Gauhati University's NSS Cell, in collaboration with GU NSS Unit and Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Guwahati, commemorated World Health Day on April 7th within the university campus. Dr. Ranjan Kr. Kakati, Director of Students’ Welfare & Program Coordinator of NSS Cell, Gauhati University, inaugurated the event, highlighting this year's theme, "My Health, My Right."
The focus of this year's theme was to advocate for universal access to quality health services, education, and information, alongside essential resources such as safe drinking water, clean air, good nutrition, quality housing, decent working and environmental conditions, and freedom from discrimination for all citizens.
As a resource person, Dr. Bishal Agrawalla, a renowned Nephrologist from Narayana Super Speciality Hospital, Guwahati, shed light on the significance of maintaining healthy kidneys. He emphasized the importance of a balanced diet, regular physical exercise, and strong immune systems for a healthy lifestyle.
Dr. Rituparna Borah, Programme Officer of GU Campus NSS Unit, welcomed guests and participants, stressing the importance of adequate sleep, regular exercise, and nutritious food for maintaining both physical and mental well-being.
Sri Sanjib Das, Assistant Manager at Narayana Hospital, also graced the event with his presence. Arundhuti Hazarika anchored the program, while Bhaskar Bora delivered the vote of thanks. Approximately 150 NSS volunteers actively participated in the event, underscoring the collective commitment towards promoting health awareness and holistic well-being within the university community.
