Khatkati, 9 March, 24: In a proactive move to combat illicit drug trafficking, the police in Karbi Anglong conducted a targeted raid on Rimjhim Dhaba, located under the jurisdiction of the Khatkhati police station. Acting on confidential information, law enforcement officials apprehended two individuals suspected of involvement in the illegal narcotics trade.
The operation led to the arrest of Mughaka Zhimoni (22) and Vinato Shohe (30), both hailing from Nagaland. Zhimoni, a resident of Khekiho Village under the Dhansiripar police station in Chumukidima district, Nagaland, was apprehended along with Shohe, who currently resides at Khekiho Village as well.
During the search of the dhaba premises, authorities discovered three identical soap cases containing a brown-colored powder, suspected to be heroin. The total weight of the seized substance amounted to 35.33 grams. The diligent efforts of the police, coupled with the presence of independent witnesses, ensured the successful recovery and seizure of the illicit substance.
