No Petrol Pump Shutdown: NEIPDA Withdraws Strike Plan
NEIPDA Delays Strike: Originally Scheduled from March 30 to April 1
Guwahati, 29 March 24: The North East India Petroleum Dealers Association (NEIPDA) has decided to postpone its planned strike across Assam and the North East region, which was originally scheduled from March 30 to April 1.

This decision was made following a General Meeting convened at the NEIPDA office on March 28. During the meeting, members expressed concerns about the stagnant dealer commissions since 2017 and the increasing operational costs faced by retail outlets.

While the association initially planned to proceed with the strike, it has opted to defer the action after holding discussions with various stakeholders, including the district administration, election media cell, police administration, and oil companies.

A senior official from NEIPDA noted that the decision to postpone the strike was influenced by concerns about potential violations of the election code of conduct. Additionally, considering that the oil companies involved are government undertakings, the association deemed it prudent to postpone the strike at this time.
