Khatkhati, 22 March, 24: In a significant operation, Karbi Anglong police intercepted and apprehended an individual with suspected heroin during a routine naka checking at the Janakpukhuri Tri-junction under the jurisdiction of Khatkhati Police Station in Karbi Anglong District.
The individual in custody has been identified as Ghookavi Chisi, hailing from Dimapur. The seizure of heroin was made from his Toyota Urban Cruiser, bearing Registration No NL07CB0290, as it approached from the Dimapur direction. Authorities discovered and confiscated a total of 26 plastic soap cases, all containing brown powder suspected to be heroin. These cases were packed in white transparent polythene packets, with a cumulative weight of 294.64 grams. A case has been duly registered in connection with this incident.
The naka checkpoint was established under the leadership of One sec. U/C Bull Birender Singh, in collaboration with OC Khatkhati and police personnel, under the supervision of Sh. Ravi Gill (A/C) and the physical oversight of SDPO Bokajan.
