Karbi Anglong Police Bust Drug Dealing Operation in Panbari, Diphu


Diphu, 3 March, 24: In response to intelligence regarding drug activities in the Panbari area of Diphu, the Karbi Anglong Police took proactive measures on March 2. They established a Special Naka to intercept suspicious vehicles. During the operation, an auto with registration number AS 09 BC-0611, originating from Diphu Town, was stopped near Panbari. Upon inspection, authorities discovered a plastic soapbox containing suspected heroin, weighing approximately 12.94 grams, in the possession of Biki Singh (29 years), son of the late Nagindra Singh, from Lanka Punjabi Bosti, PS Lanka, Hojai.

Additionally, accompanying Singh was a woman identified as Ms. Priyanka Das, along with a minor girl. Upon interrogation, they admitted to traveling together to Diphu by train with the intent of engaging in drug-related activities in Panbari. Alongside the suspected narcotics, authorities recovered 10 ATM cards, 2 mobile phones, and other items during the operation, as documented in Diphu PS Case No. 12/24 under Sections 21(b)/29 of the NDPS Act.

The Special Naka operation was carried out under the supervision of the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Diphu, along with the Deputy Superintendent of Police (DYSP) and the In-Charge (IC) of the Tactical Operation Party (TOP), supported by additional staff, including a Woman Police Constable (WPC).
