In a significant prelude to the upcoming elections in Arunachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Pema Khandu proudly announced the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) triumph in securing 10 assembly seats without contest. This victory comes weeks before the scheduled election date, marking a resounding show of support for the BJP's developmental initiatives.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu, along with his deputy Chowna Mein and eight other candidates, emerged victorious uncontested after the closure of the nomination withdrawal period. "Winning 10 seats uncontested is a monumental achievement even before the ballots are cast. It reflects the overwhelming endorsement of our government's developmental endeavors. The people's mandate for continuity is clear, and our government formation is assured. We are confident of securing a landslide victory in both Lok Sabha seats as well," expressed Mr. Khandu.

The BJP has fielded candidates for all 60 seats in the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly, gearing up for the upcoming elections scheduled for April 19. In contrast, the Congress is contesting on 34 seats, setting the stage for a competitive electoral battle.

The news of the BJP's uncontested victories was met with jubilation by supporters, who celebrated with fervor, bursting firecrackers in the capital city of Itanagar.

Among the notable wins, BJP leader Dasanglu Pul's nomination sailed through unopposed after her sole opponent from the Congress withdrew from the contest. Dasanglu Pul, wife of former chief minister Kalikho Pul, is poised to represent her constituency.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu himself faced no opposition in the Mukto assembly constituency, signaling a vote of confidence from the electorate. Similarly, first-time candidate Techi Rotu of the BJP emerged as the sole nominee for the Sagalee assembly constituency.

In other constituencies, BJP candidates like Jikke Tako in Tali (Kra Daadi), Nyato Dukam in Taliha (Upper Subansiri), and Roing MLA Mutchu Mithi, who recently joined the BJP, are expected to secure victory unopposed.

Ashok Singhal, the party-in-charge for Arunachal Pradesh polls and Assam Cabinet minister, attributed the BJP's success to the trust instilled by the people in Prime Minister Modi and his transformative vision. "The unwavering faith of the people in our government's commitment to massive development initiatives has been reflected through this resounding victory," remarked Singhal.

Furthermore, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma extended his heartfelt congratulations to Shri Pema Khandu on his unopposed victory, emphasizing the people's unwavering trust in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. "Your win is truly special and admirable," Sarma remarked on his social media platform, underscoring the significance of Khandu's achievement.
