Expressing deep concern for the welfare of young girls and boys, the Chief Minister delivered a resolute message aimed at combating this harmful practice.

In his impassioned address, Chief Minister Sarma directly addressed the All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) and Congress, admonishing them for their purported support of child marriage. He issued a stern warning to both parties, urging them to cease their endorsement of underage marriage practices.

Asserting his commitment to safeguarding the rights of children, Chief Minister Sarma pledged to eradicate the scourge of child marriage from Assam. He challenged all stakeholders to join him in his mission to end this harmful practice before the year 2026.
