ASSAM, 12 January 2024: In a significant move towards women empowerment, HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa has launched the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan in Assam. This ambitious initiative is designed to provide financial support to women entrepreneurs in rural areas.
The primary objective of the initiative is to transform the lives of 39 lakh women Self-Help Group (SHG) members into micro-entrepreneurs, ensuring a minimum annual income of ₹1 lakh for each participant. The focus is on fostering economic independence and creating sustainable livelihoods for women in Assam's rural communities.
By bridging the gap between SHG members and micro-entrepreneurship, the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan seeks to unleash the entrepreneurial spirit within women, driving economic growth at the grassroots level. This holistic approach not only uplifts individual women but also contributes to the overall development of rural areas in Assam.
The initiative recognizes the untapped potential of women in rural communities and aims to provide them with the necessary resources, training, and support to succeed as micro-entrepreneurs. It is a crucial step towards fostering inclusive economic development, promoting gender equality, and reducing financial disparities in the region.
Through the Mukhyamantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyaan, HCM Dr. Himanta Biswa demonstrates a commitment to creating a thriving ecosystem for women-led enterprises in Assam. As the initiative gains momentum, it is anticipated to bring about positive changes, empowering women and driving economic progress in the heart of rural Assam.
