After Barricade Incident: Assam CM Plans Arrest for Rahul Gandhi Post Lok Sabha Election
Assam CM Accuses Rahul Gandhi of Destabilization Amid Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra
Guwahati, 25 January, 24: In a recent statement, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed his concerns over Congress MP Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, alleging that its main aim was to destabilize Assam. Sarma went on to elaborate on the government's stance and future actions.

Chief Minister Sarma accused Rahul Gandhi of attempting to destabilize Assam through his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra. He asserted that the intentions behind the Yatra were to create unrest within the state.

Despite the allegations, Sarma conveyed that Rahul Gandhi is allowed to carry out his Nyay Yatra in Dhubri. The Chief Minister stated that there is no objection to the Yatra taking place in that region.

Sarma revealed his plans to arrest Rahul Gandhi after the Lok Sabha election. He clarified that arresting him earlier might lead to political polarization, emphasizing the government's intent to avoid such scenarios.

The Chief Minister informed that a case has been registered against Rahul Gandhi, and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will conduct a thorough investigation. Sarma emphasized having evidence to support the allegations against the Congress MP.

Sarma highlighted a potential security risk in Guwahati, pointing to an incident where people were instigated to break barricades during Rahul Gandhi's visit. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude that a major incident was avoided and attributed it to the swift actions taken by security forces.

Asserting the government's focus on the upcoming Lok Sabha election, Sarma stated that they do not wish to engage in politics before the election. He expressed confidence in winning the election and suggested that political activities would resume post the electoral process.

As the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra unfolds in Assam, tensions escalate with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma accusing Rahul Gandhi of destabilization. The government's decision to allow the Yatra in Dhubri while preparing for legal action post Lok Sabha election adds complexity to the unfolding political drama in the region.
