Imphal, 10 December, 2023 - In a proactive move to fortify security measures, Manipur police, in collaboration with security forces, executed extensive search operations and area domination activities across strategic locations in Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur, Kangpokpi, and Bishnupur districts. The operations yielded significant achievements, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining law and order in vulnerable areas.
(i) Dismantling of Unauthorised Bunker in Churachandpur District:
One unauthorised bunker was successfully dismantled in Churachandpur District, signaling a decisive step in eradicating potential security threats. The removal of this bunker underscores the meticulous efforts to eliminate unauthorized structures that may compromise the safety of the region.
(ii) Arms and Ammunition Recovery in Imphal West District:
In Imphal West District, security forces seized a substantial cache of weaponry, including a SMG 9mm Carbine with one magazine, a 9mm Pistol with one magazine, a Pistol, four 36 HE Hand Grenades with two detonators, four Chinese Hand Grenades, a Teargas Grenade, a Stun Grenade, a Tube Launching device, a live 84mm illumination shell, four Shot gun shells, and two 12 bore cartridges. The successful recovery serves as a preventive measure against potential threats.
(iii) Arms Cache Unearthed in Thoubal District:
Thoubal District witnessed the recovery of a 7.62mm SLR Rifle, a .303 Rifle with one magazine, two 36 HE Hand Grenades with detonators, two Chinese Walkie-talkie sets, three 40mm Lathode Bombs, a Tube Launcher, two arm rings, five Stun Shells, a Tear Smoke shell, a Stringer Hand Grenade, and a Grenade key. This impressive cache retrieval enhances the security apparatus in the district.
