KSA Stands Firm in Demand for Accountability and Justice in APS Scandal
Diphu, December 28, 2023 — In a recent development, the one-man inquiry commission, headed by Justice (retired) Biplab Kumar Sharma, has found Rumir Timungpi, daughter of Mangal Sing Timung, EM, KAAC, guilty of involvement in the notorious cash-for-job APSC scandal. Consequently, she has been suspended from her position in the APS.
The Karbi Students' Association (KSA) strongly condemns Rumir Timungpi for her alleged participation in this disgraceful act, which has brought shame to Karbi Anglong. The inquiry suggests that an exorbitant amount, possibly more than a crore rupees, was paid by Rumir and her father to secure her selection as an APS officer. This money is believed to be misappropriated funds from the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC) by Mangal Sing Timung, EM, KAAC.
Bishnuram Phangcho, President of the Karbi Students Association (KSA) Diphu District Committee, expressed concern over the potential misuse of influence and financial power by Rumir Timungpi to clear her name. The KSA urges the authorities to mete out a fitting punishment to Rumir Timungpi and initiate an inquiry into the source of the money used for her selection. Furthermore, they call for an investigation into Mangal Sing Timung, EM, KAAC, emphasizing his alleged corruption and its impact on departments under KAAC.
The KSA stands firm in its commitment to ensuring transparency and accountability, advocating for a fair and thorough inquiry to uncover the truth behind this scandal.
