Karbi Anglong (Assam), December 23: In a successful joint operation, Assam Police and CRPF personnel apprehended two individuals and confiscated a significant cache of ammunition in the Bokajan area of Karbi Anglong district on Saturday.
The collaborative effort was prompted by a tip-off, leading the joint team to conduct a thorough naka checking at Khatkhati area under Bokajan Sub-Division on Friday evening. The operation targeted a passenger bus arriving from Dimapur, Nagaland.
Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Bokajan, Rustom Raj Brahma, shared with ANI that the security personnel discovered 150 live ammunition rounds for AK series rifles and Insas rifles, along with six magazines and various other items in possession of the two apprehended individuals.
The arrested persons had stolen a bag of security personnel from Dimapur railway station. They were on their way to Nagaon, SDPO Brahma informed over the phone.
This joint effort highlights the effectiveness of intelligence-driven operations in maintaining security and preventing illicit activities in the region.
