New Delhi, December 11, 2023: In a pivotal meeting today, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma shared his gratitude and briefed Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on Assam's ongoing pro-people programs. The Chief Minister extended an invitation for Prime Minister Modi to visit Assam, outlining a series of transformative initiatives aimed at boosting the state's development.
During the interaction, CM Sarma proposed the following key projects for the Prime Minister's consideration:
1. Kamakhya Corridor Project Foundation Stone Laying: Aiming to enhance cultural and tourist experiences, the proposal involves laying the foundation stone for the Kamakhya Corridor project.
2. Dedication of Bir Lachit's Grand Statue at Jorhat: Honoring the historical legacy, a grand statue of Bir Lachit is set to be dedicated at Jorhat.
3. Inauguration of Tinsukia Medical College & Foundation Stone for Sivasagar Medical College: Prime Minister Modi is expected to inaugurate the Tinsukia Medical College and lay the foundation stone for the Sivasagar Medical College, marking significant strides in healthcare infrastructure.
Furthermore, CM Sarma sought Prime Minister Modi’s counsel on organizing the Assam Business Summit in 2024. The summit aims to establish itself as a key platform for attracting private investments and driving economic growth in the state.
