Silchar, Assam - 25 December, 23: In a significant anti-drug operation, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the efforts of Cachar police and BSF for their swift response to a tip-off. The joint operation successfully intercepted a vehicle and seized YABA tablets valued at ₹10 crore in the Chalchapra area of Silchar.
Acting on intelligence received on 25 December, the collaborative efforts of the Cachar Police and Border Security Force (BSF) resulted in the apprehension of five individuals associated with the illicit drug transportation.
The seized vehicle contained a substantial quantity of YABA tablets, emphasizing the cross-border nature of the illegal drug trade.
Assam Police, led by GP Singh, are actively engaged in further investigations to trace the origins and distribution network of the seized contraband. The successful operation showcases the commitment of law enforcement agencies in combatting the drug menace in the region.
