Introducing the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB)

The announcement came during a state cabinet session led by Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, where the formal adoption of the resolution took place.
As outlined in a cabinet communique shared by Chief Minister Sarma, the consolidation will entail merging the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA), responsible for overseeing Class 10 board examinations, and the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), which manages Class 12 tests. The outcome of this merger is the establishment of a new entity named the Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB).
