Nitu Bordoloi, a Resident of Morigaon District, Loses Life in Heartbreaking Mishap
Morigaon, Assam- October 01,2023:In a heart-wrenching incident at the Jal Jeevan Mission project site in Nawboicha, Assam's Lakhimpur district, a worker's life was tragically cut short when he accidentally fell from an under-construction water tank. The victim, identified as Nitu Bordoloi, a resident of Morigaon district, met with this devastating accident while working diligently to contribute to the mission's goals.
Nitu Bordoloi had journeyed from Morigaon to Tokouguri in Nawboicha with the intention of participating in the Jal Jeevan Mission project. On Saturday, he ascended the towering 40-foot-high under-construction water tank. Tragically, during the late hours of the night, an unfortunate lapse in caution led to his fall, resulting in his untimely demise.
The somber discovery of Nitu's lifeless body was made by fellow workers engaged in the construction project early the next morning. They promptly alerted the project contractor, who, in turn, reached out to the Nawboicha police. Law enforcement officials swiftly arrived at the scene, and Nitu's body was transferred to the Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
Family members of the deceased received the heartbreaking news and promptly made their way to Nawboicha to be with their beloved Nitu during this difficult time.

Two workers, Amir Hussain and Saifuddin, both hailing from Moirabari town, lost their lives tragically after accidentally falling into a deep tank filled with water. These incidents underscore the need for ongoing vigilance and rigorous safety practices at all Jal Jeevan Mission project sites, as the mission seeks to provide clean and accessible drinking water to communities across Assam.
