Mumbai, India - October 23, 2023: In a significant operation, Mumbai police have dismantled a high-profile sex racket operating in the Andheri area. The raid resulted in the rescue of nine young women, with seven of them originating from Northeast India.
Acting on specific intelligence, law enforcement authorities conducted a targeted operation at a spa in Andheri, successfully dismantling the high-profile sex racket. The nine women saved from the spa comprised four from Manipur, two from Mizoram, one from Meghalaya, and two from Kolkata and Lucknow, respectively.
Currently, the spa's owner, identified as Atul Dhivar, remains at large. The police have initiated a manhunt to apprehend him. Simultaneously, the spa's manager, known as Chandrakant, was taken into custody and has appeared before the court.
The investigation indicates potential connections between several high-profile individuals in Mumbai and this illicit sex racket.
This operation was conducted by the Social Service branch of the Crime Branch in the Andheri West area of Mumbai. A case has been registered under pertinent sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the primary suspect, shedding light on the urgency of addressing such criminal enterprises.
