Government's Decision to Modify Age Limit Formally Notified
In a recent development, the Government of Assam has approved a significant alteration to the age limit for recruitment to the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (Communication) in the Assam Police Radio Organization (APRO). The decision, formalized through a corrigendum issued by GP Singh, Director General of Police (DGP) of Assam, extends the upper age limit for candidates applying for this role.
The corrigendum, officially notified through the Office of the Chairman, State Level Police Recruitment Board, Assam, brings about a critical change in the eligibility criteria for this particular recruitment. It is in response to the GoA vide No. HMA 87/2023/5 dated 17-10-2023, where the enhancement of the upper age limit was given the green light.
Key Details from the Corrigendum:
The enhancement of the upper age limit for the post of Sub-Inspector of Police (Communication) in APRO has been approved.
The existing age limit of 24 years for candidates has been extended to 26 years.
The corrigendum, dated 18-10-2023, refers to the recruitment for 7 posts of Sub-Inspector of Police (Communication) in APRO.
As a result of this change, the eligibility criteria regarding the age limit, which was previously mentioned in Para II of the advertisement issued vide No. SLPRB/REC/SI (C)/APRO/650/2023/80 dated 06-10-2023, will be modified. The new age criteria for candidates interested in applying for the position are as follows:
Eligibility Criteria - Age (Modified):
Candidate should not be more than 26 years and not less than 20 years of age as of January 1, 2023. This means that candidates must be born on or before January 1, 2003, and on or after 1997.
This alteration in the age limit opens up new opportunities for a broader spectrum of candidates aspiring to serve as Sub-Inspectors of Police (Communication) in APRO. The extension of the upper age limit to 26 years provides a more inclusive approach to recruitment and ensures that a wider range of eligible candidates can participate in the selection process.
The corrigendum signifies the Assam Government's commitment to ensuring that recruitment processes remain fair and accommodating to potential candidates, contributing to a more diverse and dynamic police force in the state.
