Senior District Administrative Assistant Suspended Amidst Serious Allegations
Tinsukia, Assam: Wajid Hussain, a senior district administrative assistant at the Tinsukia District Commissioner's office, has been suspended following grave allegations brought against him. The complaint, filed under the POCSO Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code, has resulted in his immediate suspension, and Hussain is reportedly evading authorities.
The Tinsukia District Commissioner's office issued an official order, confirming that a complaint was registered on August 22, 2023, at Tinsukia's Sadar Police Station, under case number Tinsukia PS/C/NO-518/23.
The charges against Wajid Hussain, as outlined in the complaint, encompass sections 166A, 342, 354A, 506, 509, and 34 of the IPC, in conjunction with Sections 8, 17, and 18 of the POCSO Act. The order notes that Hussain has been conspicuously absent from work since August 23, 2023, despite repeated instructions to appear before the investigating officer.
The serious allegations stem from a police case initiated against Hussain and his second wife on August 22, accusing them of physically assaulting and mistreating the minor daughter of Hussain's second wife. The young girl had been residing with them after the marriage.
The complainant, identified as the brother of Hussain's wife, disclosed that after her divorce, his sister and her two children were living with Wajid Hussain. Subsequently, she entered a relationship with Hussain, himself a divorcee and father of a son, and they decided to marry despite familial objections.
The situation escalated dramatically when, following the marriage, the woman brought her daughter into their household. Troublingly, in June, the minor victim reached out to her family, detailing incidents of physical abuse and torment. The complainant expressed their belief that the accused individual had manipulated the system to their advantage, thereby contributing to their ongoing harassment.
This case has raised serious concerns within the community, and authorities are actively pursuing the investigation to ensure justice is served. Wajid Hussain's suspension underscores the gravity of the allegations against him, and as the legal process unfolds, the public watches closely for developments in this sensitive matter.
