Clarity Amidst Confusion: Ranoj Pegu Addresses Rumors of HSLC Exam Fee Increase

Amidst recent reports circulating in certain media outlets, Assam's Education Minister, Ranoj Pegu, took to social media to clarify that there has been no increase in the examination fee for the High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA). Minister Pegu vehemently denied the accuracy of these reports and emphasized that the fee structure remains unchanged from the previous year.
Fee Structure Remains Unaltered:
Addressing the concerns and speculations, Minister Ranoj Pegu provided a breakdown of the fee structure for the HSLC examination. He affirmed that the SEBA examination fee stands at ₹700, the Centre fee at ₹350, and the practical examination fee at ₹150, totaling ₹1200. Importantly, the minister clarified that students falling under the Below Poverty Line (BPL) category are entirely exempt from paying this fee.
Raising Concerns About False Reporting:
Expressing his displeasure over the misinformation being disseminated, Minister Pegu denounced the reports as "false and baseless." He further tagged Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the official Twitter account of the Assam Department of Education in his tweet to ensure that the correct information reaches the concerned parties and the general public.
The Education Minister's prompt clarification aims to dispel any confusion and apprehension among students, parents, and educational stakeholders.
