The advisory, issued by Canadian authorities, underscores the heightened risk of terrorist activities and security tensions in Jammu and Kashmir, Assam, and Manipur, urging Canadians to exercise caution when visiting these areas.
The travel advisory emphasizes the delicate security situation in Jammu and Kashmir, citing concerns about violent protests, civil unrest, and the persistent threat of terrorism. It also highlights ongoing clashes between militants and security forces, often resulting in civilian casualties, adding to the overall security concerns in the region.

Trudeau clarified that his intention was not to provoke New Delhi but rather to prompt a serious response from the Indian government. This issue was raised in discussions with US President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. Notably, the expelled Indian diplomat was identified as the head of Indian intelligence in Canada.
