Agartala City Set for Major Infrastructure Boost: Foundation Laid for Five AMRUT 2.0 Projects

Agartala, Tripura: Professor (Dr) Manik Saha, the Chief Minister of Tripura, announced a series of infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the urban landscape of Agartala. The State Government has been diligently working to enhance citizen services in the city and has laid the foundation stone for five crucial projects as part of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) 2.0 Scheme, under the guidance and support of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

The ambitious projects unveiled during the foundation-laying ceremony aim to address pressing issues related to water supply, water body development, sewerage system, and septage management in Agartala. The move signifies the government's commitment to fostering sustainable urban development and improving the quality of life for the city's residents.

The five key projects that were unveiled are:

1. 47 Deep Tube Wells: To tackle the growing demand for water, the implementation of 47 deep tube wells is set to augment the city's water supply capacity significantly. These wells will ensure a reliable and sustainable water source for the residents of Agartala.

2. 26 Modified Iron Removal Plants: Ensuring the availability of safe and clean drinking water is a top priority for the government. The installation of 26 modified iron removal plants will help eliminate impurities, ensuring that the city's water supply adheres to high-quality standards.

3. 5 Package Type Iron Removal Plants: The package type iron removal plants will further enhance water purification capabilities, removing harmful iron particles and enhancing the overall water quality.

4. 258 km Treated Water Pipeline: The construction of an extensive 258 km treated water pipeline network will facilitate the smooth distribution of clean water throughout Agartala. This network is expected to significantly reduce water wastage and improve water accessibility for all residents.

5. 16,224 Tap Water Connections: With a focus on ensuring every household has access to potable water, the government aims to provide 16,224 tap water connections, ensuring the availability of clean and safe drinking water to every doorstep.
