Assam's Vigilance Shuts Down Bribery Attempt in District Transport Office

Bongaigaon, Assam:In a significant development, the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DIR_VAC) Assam successfully apprehended Subhash Daimary, Senior Assistant of the Office of the District Transport Officer, Bongaigaon, for accepting a bribe from a complainant. The bribe was allegedly taken to unblock the computer link of the complainant's Vehicle Pollution Centre.


The operation, led by DIR_VAC Assam, unfolded earlier today when an undercover team exposed Daimary accepting the illegal payment. The complainant, whose identity is being kept confidential for security reasons, had filed a complaint against Daimary for demanding a hefty bribe to remove the blockage from his Vehicle Pollution Centre's computer system.

Upon receiving the complaint, the DGP of Assam, GP Singh, actively retweeted the news, praising the efforts of DIR_VAC Assam and encouraging them to continue their good work in combating corruption within the state.
