Assam CM Announces Inauguration Date for Maligaon Flyover - Relief for Guwahati Commuters.
Guwahati, the bustling city in Assam, is set to witness a significant improvement in its traffic situation. Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam, has brought relief to the people of Guwahati by announcing the inauguration of the much-anticipated Maligaon Flyover on August 28.This eagerly awaited announcement was made during a special event at the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati. The Chief Minister had previously stated that the Maligaon flyover, which happens to be the longest flyover in the city, would be inaugurated before the Durga Puja festivities.
Initially, the construction of the flyover was expected to conclude by March 29, 2023. However, due to various factors, the construction process encountered delays, causing concern among commuters. The recent announcement by the Chief Minister has brought a sense of relief and anticipation among the residents.
The Maligaon Flyover is a collaborative effort between Shree Gautam Construction Co Ltd and Anupam Nirman Pvt Ltd (JV). Spanning along the AT Road, this impressive infrastructure project will feature four lanes and stretch over a length of 2630.00 meters. The primary objective of the Maligaon flyover is to enhance the flow of vehicles and subsequently reduce travel time for commuters once the project reaches completion.
This positive development echoes a similar initiative in the city—the Zoo Road flyover. Expected to alleviate traffic congestion and enhance connectivity, the Zoo Road flyover is poised to make a meaningful impact on various important areas of Guwahati.
With these upcoming infrastructure enhancements, Guwahati residents can look forward to smoother traffic flow and improved accessibility, contributing to a more seamless and convenient urban experience.
