Assam, India: The National Means Cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) Examination for the year 2023 presents a golden opportunity for Class VIII students in Assam to secure a brighter future. Sponsored by the Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, Government of India, this scholarship aims to support deserving students on their educational journey.
A Pathway to Excellence
Applications are now open for the NMMS Examination, scheduled to take place on November 18, 2023. This esteemed scholarship offers Class VIII students the chance to avail financial assistance and recognition for their academic merit.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is extended to students of Government and Provincialised schools under the Department of School Education, Govt. of Assam. Students from Private schools, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNV), and Kendriya Vidyalayas (KV) are welcome to take part in the examination, though they won't be considered for the scholarship.
Financial Support for Aspiring Minds
Selected students will receive a scholarship of ₹12,000 per annum during their classes IX to XII. To qualify, the parental income of the applicant should not exceed ₹3.5 lakh per annum as per the Ministry of Education's guidelines.
Examination Schedule
The NMMS Examination consists of two sections:
1. Mental Ability Test (MAT) - Total Marks: 90
Date: November 18, 2023, Time: 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM
2. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) - Total Marks: 90
Date: November 18, 2023, Time: 01:00 PM to 02:30 PM
E-Admit Card Availability
E-admit cards will be accessible from November 1, 2023, on the official website and the Bidyarthi mobile app.
Application Deadline
Interested students are encouraged to apply by October 10, 2023, for this esteemed scholarship opportunity.
