Tamil Nadu: In a display of solidarity and empathy, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Thiru. M.K. Stalin, has reached out to Manipur's Hon'ble Chief Minister, N. Biren Singh, requesting the Manipur Government's concurrence for humanitarian aid to help those affected by the prevailing situation in the state.
Acknowledging the support already provided to the Tamils in Manipur, Chief Minister Stalin expressed his gratitude and urged for continued protection for their lives and property. According to reports, over 50,000 people are currently seeking refuge in relief camps due to the ongoing crisis, warranting immediate assistance.
The Government of Tamil Nadu has pledged to extend its support to Manipur by providing essential relief materials estimated to be worth around Rs. 10 crores. These items include Tarpaulin sheets, Bed-sheets, Mosquito Nets, Essential Medicines, Sanitary Napkins, and Milk Powder. These provisions are aimed at addressing the pressing needs of those residing in the relief camps and can be airlifted if necessary.
Chief Minister Stalin has requested the Manipur Government's consent for this much-needed humanitarian aid. Furthermore, he has also sought information about the subsequent actions required to facilitate a seamless coordination between the respective state authorities. By doing so, the relief materials can be swiftly dispatched to the affected regions at the earliest.
