Guwahati, Assam - In a momentous occasion for the Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is set to visit Assam on July 4 as the esteemed Chief Guest for the institution's 25th convocation ceremony. The Vice President's Secretariat announced that during his visit, Vice President Dhankhar will also pay a visit to the revered Kamakhya temple to offer prayers.

Accompanied by Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sharma, and other distinguished personalities, Vice President Dhankhar will engage in a series of events throughout the day. In the capital city of Guwahati, he will have the opportunity to interact with the talented students of IIT, further fostering a sense of academic camaraderie.

The significance of this convocation ceremony lies in its celebration of the remarkable journey of IIT Guwahati. The inaugural convocation took place in 1999, with 63 students being awarded their degrees. Over the past 25 years, the institution has witnessed the graduation of more than 20,000 students, marking an extraordinary milestone in the field of education.
