Tripura Transforms Education with 752 Smart Classrooms - A Digital Leap Forward
Tripura Makes Strides in Education with 752 Smart Classrooms Inauguration.
Agartala, July 21, 2023: A significant milestone was achieved in Tripura's education sector as Chief Minister, Prof. Dr. Manik Saha, inaugurated 752 smart classrooms in government schools, ushering in a new era of advanced learning and improved infrastructure.

The inauguration ceremony took place at Umakanta Academy School in Agartala and was organized by Samagra Shiksha in association with the Elementary Education department. During his speech, the Chief Minister highlighted the government's unwavering commitment to the comprehensive development of education, health, and agriculture sectors.

Education, as stated by Dr. Saha, remains a top priority for the government, and it aims to provide students with value-based, high-quality education. The introduction of smart classrooms marks a significant digital leap, designed to spark students' interest in studies and foster interactive learning experiences.

Through the Vidyajyoti scheme, 100 schools have already benefited from this initiative, and the government plans to extend the coverage to 25 more schools. Dr. Saha emphasized that proactive measures are being taken to ensure the delivery of quality education and maintain high standards across all aspects of the educational system.

Explaining the smart classroom initiative further, Dr. Saha revealed that the central government had sanctioned 812 smart classrooms for the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23. Of these, 752 smart classrooms have been successfully implemented in 744 Secondary and Higher Secondary schools, along with 8 primary schools. The cost of each smart classroom amounts to approximately Rs 2.78 lakh.

The primary objective of these smart classrooms is to ignite students' curiosity and interest in studies. Additionally, it aims to keep teachers updated with the latest advancements in education, ensuring students receive well-informed and up-to-date knowledge.

Moreover, Chief Minister Dr. Saha disclosed the introduction of the HIRA model by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This model is designed to bring the light of education to every nook and corner of Tripura, bridging the gap between rural villages and urban cities. Both the central and state governments are working hand in hand to achieve this noble goal.

As part of the event, CM Dr. Saha also released the 'Nipun' handbook, further emphasizing the government's dedication to empowering students and educators with the best resources and knowledge.

With the inauguration of these smart classrooms and the implementation of the HIRA model, Tripura takes a momentous step forward in shaping a brighter and more prosperous future for its students and the entire state. The investment in education is expected to yield valuable returns by nurturing a well-informed, educated, and empowered generation.
