Agartala, July 24, 2023: In a major operation carried out today, the Tripura Police successfully prevented an attempt to smuggle 41 kilograms of cannabis from the cargo terminal of MBB Airport in Agartala. The illegal substance had been dispatched from the Indian Post Office and was destined to be transported outside the state.
The alarm was raised when the Airport Police Station received a tip-off about two suspicious parcels originating from the Indian Post Office. These parcels were flagged for being destined outside of Tripura. Acting swiftly, the cargo section officials at MBB Airport conducted a meticulous scan of the parcels, which only heightened their suspicions.
