Champhai Police Make Significant Stride in the Ongoing War on Drugs
Mizoram police have once again dealt a blow to the drug trade with a substantial narcotics seizure. In a recent operation conducted at the Chalbawiha Junction Police Check Gate, Champhai Police successfully recovered and confiscated a total of 1.373 kilograms (1373 grams) of heroin from the illegal possession of three individuals traveling in a Maxi Cab (Sumo) vehicle between Zokhawthar and Aizawl.
The authorities seized 1329 grams (1.329 kilograms) of heroin from Vanneihkimi (30), daughter of Sangluaia from Kannan, Khampat, Myanmar, who was residing at Zokhawthar in the Champhai District. Additionally, John Vanlalruata (19), son of R. Lalhmingthanga from Chanmari, Aizawl, was found in possession of 22 grams of heroin. Jonathan Biakthanpuia (20), son of Zoremsiama from Chanmari West, Aizawl, was also apprehended with 22 grams of heroin.
Champhai Police have registered cases against all three accused individuals at the Champhai Police Station, initiating a thorough investigation to uncover further details about the drug network's links.
